Thomas J. Riordan, 57, of Worcester died Thursday, August 1, 2024 at his home.
Tom was born in Worcester, son of the late Dr. John A. and Rosemary Black Riordan. He grew up in the Newton Square section of Worcester.
He was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury and Northeastern University in Boston, where he was a member of the Nu Epsilon Zeta fraternity.
Tom worked close to 20 years for the City of Cambridge. Previously, he worked for the City of Worcester. More recently, He was a substitute teacher and worked at Lowe’s in Worcester.
Tom enjoyed sports and was a longtime member of the Worcester Rugby Club.
He had countless close friends from Newton Square, St. John’s High School, Northeastern and his rugby circles.
Tom leaves seven siblings, Dr. Catherine A. Riordan and her husband John P. Foley Jr. of Holden, Paul J. Riordan and his wife Mary of Shrewsbury, Mary M. Riordan of Denver, Colo., Anne R. Michelson and her husband James of Worcester, James M. Riordan and his wife Dr. Leslie Soyka of Northborough, Peter M. Riordan and Brian M. Riordan, both of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 10, at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours.
