Thomas Dunn Obituary

Thomas E. Dunn, 84, of West Boylston, died November 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas leaves his wife of 61 years, Barbara A. (Foley) Dunn; a daughter, Eileen R. McGreevey (John) of Horsham, PA; four sons, Matthew J. Dunn (Rosemary) of Worcester, Patrick T. Dunn (Shannon) of Dennis, Michael W. Dunn (Meghan) of San Francisco, and Timothy M. Dunn of Worcester; ten grandchildren: Erin, Maureen, Sheila and Evelyn, Thomas and Kevin, Colleen and Brian, and Harriet and Felix; four brothers, James, William, Joseph and Richard Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was born in Portland, Maine, son of Charles L. and Ruth Marie (Snow) Dunn.  He was a graduate of Portland High School and St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT.

Tom had a long career in higher education in Admissions and Financial Aid at St. Michael’s College and Assumption University. He retired from Manhattan University in Riverdale, NY after 25 years. The joy Tom found in serving in education came less from the titles held and more from the opportunity to help kids reach their full potential.

Tom was an avid reader of World War II history and loved to play golf. He enjoyed watching old movies and horse racing and was even known to place the occasional bet.Time spent with grandchildren at their sporting events, theater performances, on vacations and at many other celebrations was his favorite.
