Thelma Mary Good (Bradford), 85, of Worcester, MA, passed away on Sunday, March 31, after a battle with dementia.
Thelma was born on August 15, 1938 to James & Loraine Bradford in Buffalo, New York. While growing up she was an avid horse rider in her local 4H club and enjoyed playing golf.
While attending college at the University of Buffalo, she met the love of her life, Philip Good. They immediately hit it off and were married in 1958.
A year later they had their first child, and while enjoying the life of motherhood, five more children were born into the family. Thelma decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother, which she was.
Once all the children were out of junior high school, she worked as the secretary for Blessed Sacrament, the church where the family were members. She was actively involved with the church and was a Eucharist minister.
Thelma was passionate about gardening and growing houseplants. Some would say that she definitely had a green thumb. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found tending to her homegrown vegetables and blooming flowers. We will miss her greatly.
Thelma was predeceased by her father and her mother. She is survived by her husband Philip and their six children: James, William, Leisa, Robert, Karen, and Brian, and seven grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Thelma’s name to one of the following organizations: Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 (800-272-3900), The Clara Barton Center, 30 Ennis Road, P.O. Box 3356, North Oxford, MA 01537-0356 (508-987-2056)].
The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 10, at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester, with a reception to follow in the nearby Kenary Room.
