Sulo Pulkkinen Obituary

Sulo K. Pulkkinen, 67, of Webster MA, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at UMass from complications during surgery. He leaves a wife of 39 years, Christine Johnson Pulkkinen, three children: Jerome E. Ellis Jr. and wife Ruth Ellis, Destinie Curran and husband Thomas Curran Jr., Michael J. Ellis and wife Jamie Ellis. He leaves his sister Donna Card of Maine, two aunts Senja Robinson and Miriam Pecevich as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Sulo is predeceased by a brother Paul Pulkkinen and sister Carlene St. Francis. Sulo leaves 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren with 3 more great grandchildren on the way this summer.

Sulo, affectionately known as Ziggy, was born in Worcester, MA. He is the son of Carl and Helen Pulkkinen. Sulo graduated from Burncoat High School and worked for many years at Allegro Microsystems in Worcester, MA.

Sulo was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing He loved playing cards and hosting family summer cookouts. He adored his wife and loved being a grandfather. His laughter was contagious. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on April 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street Worcester, MA with a reception to follow in Jeppson Hall.
