She was born Dorothy Trayers in Hyde Park, daughter of John and Theresa (Jordan) Trayers.
She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1948, following in the footsteps of her Aunt, Sister Teresa Patricia, and her teachers at Notre Dame Academy in Roxbury.
Sister Teresa earned her AB from Emmanuel College and, in 1970, received a M. Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Salem State College. She was a lifelong educator, serving at schools throughout Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her siblings, Helen T. Skowron, Mary E. Johnson, and John J. Trayers. She leaves nieces, nephews, and her sisters in religion.
Sister Teresa’s funeral will be held Friday, March 8 in the Notre Dame du Lac Chapel, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, with a visitation period at 1 p.m. followed by sharing of memories at 1:30 p.m. and a Mass at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Notre Dame du Lac Cemetery.
