Sister Julie Edwina Tucker, SNDdeN

Sister Julie Edwina Tucker SNDdeN, 96, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester.

She was born Patricia Ann Tucker in Springfield, daughter of Albert E. and Julia M. (Sullivan) Tucker.

She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1946, Sister Julie earned her BA from Emmanuel College in 1961 and received a M. Ed. In 1969 from Fairfield University. She was a lifelong educator, serving at schools throughout New England including Boston, Worcester, Connecticut and Springfield. A great deal of her career was spent at Cathedral High School in Springfield where she was assistant principal. Sister Julie was principal of Sacred Heart High School later called Notre Dame High School.

She is predeceased by her sister, Sheila Marceau of Harwich. She leaves a niece, a nephew and her sisters in religion.

Sister Julie’s funeral will be held Tuesday, July 16 at Sacred Heart Church, 387 Chestnut St., Springfield with a visitation period at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Noon. Burial will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
