Sister Alice Clare Tremblay, SNDdeN, 94, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center in Worcester.
Sister Alice was born Clare Patricia Tremblay in Salem, daughter of Leo E. and Alice M. (Callaghan) Tremblay.
She graduated from St. James High School, Salem and Emmanuel College, Boston with a BA in English and entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1947. She earned her MA in Education from Salem State College in 1970.
Sister Alice was an Elementary School teacher at Notre Dame affiliated schools for over 40 years including St. Joseph’s, Somerville; St. Bartholomew’s, Needham; St. Mary’s, Shrewsbury; St. Mary’s, Danvers and St. Mary’s, Beverly.
Sister Alice leaves nieces and nephews; and her sisters in religion, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann C. Woods and her brothers, Leo E., Paul W. and Donald E. Tremblay.
Sister Alice’s funeral will be held Thursday, September 12 in the Notre Dame du Lac Chapel, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, with a visitation period at 1 p.m. followed by Sharing of Memories at 1:30 p.m. and a Mass at 2 p.m. Burial will be Friday, September 13 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
