Shirley Ann Langley

Shirley Ann Langley, 78, of Webster, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long-term illness. 

She was born in Caribou, Maine and moved to Worcester as a young child. She graduated from North High School. She had a generous spirit and caring heart that shaped her career.  Shirley was a certified nursing assistant and worked at the former Rutland Heights Hospital and at Providence House Nursing Home as a activities assistant. Later in her career she was a client companion, caring for Susan Beaucheman whom lived with her for several years. 

Shirley leaves two daughters, Jody-Lynn Freitag Simonian and her husband Stephen of Auburn, and Linda Marie Freitag Jones of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Ashleigh, Kayla-Stephanie, and her wife Jessica, Amber, Craig, Krystal, Victoria, Alexandra, Elizabeth and Savanah; three great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Lylianna and RJ; and her brother James Langley; and her godson Dean St. Francis. Shirley also leaves two nieces and two nephews, Cyndi, Gary, James and Kristy.  She was predeceased by her parents Iolia Fewer Langley Oldenburg and Freeland Langley, her son Stephen James Freitag, her brother Richard Langley, her sister Linda-Sue Boucher and her nephew Robert.

Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed writing poetry, drawing, arts and crafts, and camping. She also loved time spent at York Beach, Maine. 

She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. 

There are calling hours Thursday, June 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester.  The funeral will be Friday in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester.
