Ruth Ann (Brosnihan) McGill, 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Notre Dame Long Term Care Nursing Center after a period of declining health.
Ruth Ann was one of five children born in Worcester to Esther (Collins) and John Brosnihan. Although her siblings; Esther, John, Francis, and David predeceased her; Ruth “Roody” has many nieces, nephews, and cousins near and far who will miss her humor and joyous “wooh!” whenever she heard or saw something she enjoyed or appreciated.
Ruth Ann was predeceased by her husband John McGill whom she met and married after her education at Ascension High School, Bryant College and while working for the Massachusetts Electric Company. While living in Concord, NH Ruth studied and obtained her Realtor’s license of which she was very proud.
Ruth loved all things floral and upon their return to Worcester Ruth took up painting which she enjoyed immensely. But most of all she loved the Haddock at Joey’s followed by a nice piece of lemon cake. Her walls were covered in flowers and cake everywhere she lived. Her artistic talent was nurtured and encouraged by the dedicated caregivers at Notre Dame. We are grateful for their love and kindness these last years.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, November 3rd at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. All are welcome. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers Ruth would have liked you to try your hand at painting something from nature… followed by a dish of Baskin Robbins’ Banana Bunt ice cream. Wooh!
