Roger P. Alter, 71, of Worcester, died March 20, 2023 at the Lutheran Skilled Care Center in Worcester.
Roger was born in Boston, son of Joseph and Minnie Geraldine (Gass) Alter. He has lived in Worcester for more than 35 years.
Roger was a graduate of Boston University.
Roger had a long career in retailing. For many years, he was a manager for the Regis company which does periodic required inventory counting for large retail stores. Previously, he was a manager of stereo equipment and tobacco products retail stores. Most recently he worked in sales at Better Electric.
Roger was a talented balloon artist who created balloon animals to the delight of children and adults alike.
Roger leaves a brother Leonard Alter of Salem, and many close friends in Worcester including Sheilagh Crotty.
There will be a gathering on Thursday, April 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, to celebrate and honor Roger’s life.
