Richard Patrick “Pat” Gillogly, 84, of Worcester, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Kathleen M. (Sullivan) Gillogly; two children, Michael T. Gillogly of Delmar, NY, and Susan M. Mayrand and her husband Matthew of Shrewsbury, MA; and three grandchildren, Simon and Maxwell Gillogly and Logan Mayrand. He also leaves his sister, Margaret “Peg” Jankovich of Omaha, NE, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, William Gillogly, Eugene Gillogly, and James Gillogly.
Pat was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of William K. Gillogly and Margaret M. (Moriarty) Gillogly.
He served stateside in the U.S. Navy for three years in the early 1960s.
Pat was a graduate of Creighton Preparatory School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Creighton University in 1962. He later received his MBA from Northeastern University in 1977. He was especially proud of earning an Advanced Management Certificate from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 1993.
Pat had a long and distinguished career in information technology management. He began his career with Wright Line in Worcester before joining Data General Corporation in Westboro. From 1981 through 2000, he served as Director of Information Technology at Digital Equipment Corporation. He later held the roles of Vice President of Hosting & Infrastructure and interim Chief Information Officer at Genuity. He then joined Tatum LLC as a CIO Engagement and Equity Partner, serving in interim CIO roles at Wheels, Inc. in the Chicago area and as Director of Global Infrastructure Services for Delphi in the greater Detroit area.
Pat had a lifelong commitment to learning and education. He served as an Adjunct Professor at Clark University’s School of Business and at Worcester State University, where he taught courses in information technology and emerging innovations. He also served as Program Lead for Technology & Innovation at Worcester State University for eight years, retiring in 2016.
A voracious reader, Pat also enjoyed sailing, tennis, and golf. He was happiest when spending time with his family and especially cherished time with his grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester, MA 01606. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no reception following the Mass.
