Pauline C. “Polly” Flynn, 93, of Worcester, died Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the St. Francis Home.
Born and raised in Bennington, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Cummings Sr. and Pauline C. Cummings.
She was also predeceased by her daughter Patricia Flynn of Worcester.
She is survived by a daughter Michele L. Holm and her partner Brian Wilson of Rutland; three grandchildren, Jennifer Mars and her husband Ryan of Jefferson, Rebecca Dellomo and her husband John of Worcester, and Eric Holm and his partner Kelly Boland of Sutton; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Wykes of Rutland, Johnathan Flynn, Ryan Mars Jr., both of Jefferson, and Max Holm of Sutton; a great-great-grandchild, Kayden Wykes of Rutland, Mass.; a brother Robert E. Cummings Jr. of Bennington; two nieces, Ann Cummings of Tampa, Fla. and Katherine Merselis and her husband Jay of Williamstown, Mass.; a nephew Paul Cummings of Bennington; and a great-niece Amelia Cummings of Bennington.
Polly graduated from St. Frances de Sales Academy, Benington High School and Green Mountain College, Poultney, Vt. She later studied at the Traphagen School of Design in New Your City.
She lived in North Adams, Mass. before moving to Worcester in 1961.
Polly worked in several hair salons around Worcester and at the Swiss Decorating Center until she retired.
She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was active in the church as past president of the Women’s Guild, a Girl Scout leader, first Communion teacher, on the Parish Council and Activities committees. She was past president of the Worcester District Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.
She was very active in Worcester theater as a stage manager and costume designer. She was past president of the Entr’actors Guild of Worcester. She was on the board of the Worcester County Light Opera. She was the resident stage manager for New England Theater Company.
The funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, will be at a later date.
