Pauline (Houle) Mercier, age 84, formerly of Auburn, MA, died peacefully Saturday, March 23, at home in Rhode Island. She was born in Drummondville, Canada, daughter of the late Armand and Laurencia (Pivin) Houle.
Pauline lived in Chicopee, MA for 28 years before moving to Auburn, MA.
Pauline enjoyed reading and playing cards at the Auburn Senior Center and most importantly spending time with her family.
Pauline leaves her sons Raymond Croteau and his wife Margaret of Springfield, MA, Roland Croteau and his fiancée Theresa Baron-Jones of Rockport, ME, Gary Croteau and his wife Laurie of Narragansett, RI, and her daughter-in-law Karen Croteau of South Hampton, MA.
She also leaves six grandchildren Megan Stevens, Kara Burke, Thomas Croteau, Kayla Rida, Christopher Croteau, and Jenna Moreno.
Pauline was blessed with five great-grandchildren: Jace, Parker, and Krew Rida, Lily and Jack Burke.
Pauline also leaves her sister Laurette Nadeau of Chandler, AZ. along with several nieces and nephews.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband Robert J. Mercier of Auburn, her son Denis A. Croteau of South Hampton, MA and her brother Clement Houle of Drummondville, Pr. Quebec, Canada.
There are calling hours Wednesday, March 27, from 8 to 9:15 am at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St. Worcester, MA. The funeral Mass will follow at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 194 Oxford St. N. in Auburn. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum in Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, donations, in Pauline’s name, are suggested to St. Joseph’s Church in Auburn, MA.
