Born in Worcester, MA on March 1, 1936 to Nancy Norton and Paul Sibley.  Attended Tabor Academy, Bowdoin College and the Naval Officer’s Candidate School in Newport, RI, where he was commissioned as an Ensign.  Spent time as an Ensign in Guam and a First Lieutenant in Hawaii. After the Navy he settled in California where he joined Kaiser Engineers in Oakland, CA.  There he met and married Diane Petersen.

His career with Kaiser Engineers started with a year in London where he recruited expatriates for a construction of an aluminum smelter in Tema, Ghana.  He transferred to Ghana where his first child, Karen, was born.  He spent three years in Ghana and returned to Oakland where son Paul was born. In 1969 he was transferred to Jamaica where he spent 3 ½ years with Kaiser constructing a bauxite plant.  Paul was a resident of Walnut Creek, CA for many years. He looked forward to his annual summer family vacations in Yosemite and going fishing at Lake Shasta.

He returned to his roots in New England and lived for the last several years in Worcester.  He is survived by his children, Karen Norton Sibley Parlette and Paul Petersen Sibley, both of Walnut Creek, CA and his three grandsons and two granddaughters.
