Paul F. Murphy Jr.

Paul F. Murphy Jr., 53, a native of Worcester, died May 1, 2025 at his home in Berkeley, Calif.

He leaves his mother, Margaret Calder Murphy of Worcester, his sister Susan Murphy and her partner David Vrane of San Jose, Calif., aunts and many cousins.  His father Paul F. Murphy passed away in 1983.

Paul was born in Worcester.  He was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury and Boston University.  He pursued graduate studies in literature at the University of California in Berkeley, where he has lived for the past 30 years.

A poet, music lover and voracious reader, Paul was always ready to suggest books, films, albums, and jazz clubs to friends. He was also a computer whiz who wrote technical articles for companies in Northern Calif. 

Paul will be buried privately at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
