Melanie (Wing) Gillis

Melanie (Wing) Gillis, 69, of Sterling passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2023 after a long illness.   

Melanie is survived by her husband of 43 years Thomas Gillis.  Melanie also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Melanie was born June 8th, 1953 in Worcester, the daughter of the late Karl and Murial (Allen) Wing.  Melanie grew up in Grafton, Mass., attended Grafton High School and was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College of Nursing.

Melanie was a registered nurse.  She worked in Worcester area hospitals and doctors’ offices for many years before retiring.

Melanie is predeceased by her sisters Dawn Guyette of Grafton and Faith Branowicki of Northbridge.

Melanie spent most of her life caring for others.  She was a devoted wife, loving aunt and kind friend. In life she appreciated the little things. Melanie will be remembered for her kind soul and generosity. 

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 29, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester.  Other arrangements are private.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing funeral arrangements.
