Maureen (Sawicki) Sima

Maureen (Sawicki) Sima, 83, of Worcester, died Friday, November 18, 2022, at Saint Vincent Hospital.

Maureen leaves two sons, Kenneth Sima and Michael Sima. both of Worcester, nieces and nephews, Richard Stefanski, Maria Sawicki, Kenneth Anderson and Karen Wilder, a great niece, Victoria Wilder and a great nephew, Nathan Wilder.

Maureen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Peter and Gertrude Sawicki.   She was also predeceased by her sister Marion Stefanski, her brother Peter Sawicki, her niece Diane Hicks, her nephew David Stefanski, and her great nephew Samuel Hicks.

Maureen lived in Worcester all her life.   She was a graduate of the former Worcester High School of Commerce.

Maureen had a long career in secretarial and clerical work.   She was a typist for many years at the State Mutual Life Assurance Co.  Later, she was a secretary to the president of Shawmut Bank in Worcester.   She retired from the Unum Insurance Co. as a transcriber.

Maureen loved to spend time with family and friends.  She cherished the family gatherings at the home of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronnie and Betty Anderson, and she greatly enjoyed her "lunches with the girls."

There will be a calling hour on Thursday, December 1, from 9 to 10:30am at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester.   A prayer service will follow at 10:30am.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
