Maureen Pratt Obituary

Maureen Virginia (Lucey) Pratt, 92, died on October 4th at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her husband of 70 years Paul H. Pratt; children Maureen A. Devlin and her husband Mike; Christine M. Pratt-Gorrill and her husband David; Peter J. Pratt; David C. Pratt and his wife Kim; Michael J. Pratt and his wife Maura O’Gara; daughter-in-law Sue Pratt, grandchildren Paul, Brandon, Mindy, Nina, Ryan, Lucey, Matthew, Elizabeth, Sean, Michaela, Rayne, Hannah, Miles; great-grandchildren Athena, Sophia, Zoey, Madden, Lucas, Avery; sisters-in-law Marjorie Pratt, Marjorie Alix, Helen Morin, Jane O’Leary and 54 nieces and nephews. Maureen was predeceased by her son Paul H. Pratt, Jr., siblings and their spouses Neal and Miriam Lucey, Bobby and Ernestine Lucey, Jackie and Mary Lucey, Elizabeth (Betty) and Bob Bourassa, Paul and Ginny Lucey, brothers-in-law Robert Pratt, Arthur Alix, Theodore Morin and Daniel O’Leary, and niece Joanne Pratt.

Maureen graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1948, was employed at the Worcester Court House, and later she worked with her niece, Karen A. Busenburg, Customs Broker, for 25 years.

Maureen, a lifelong resident of Worcester, Massachusetts, was a member of St. George’s Parish where she volunteered as a CCD teacher and on many committees. She was also an active volunteer at Indian Hill School, her children’s elementary school. In the mountains, at the beach and in the homes of friends and relatives, Maureen enjoyed many adventures, parties and celebrations throughout her life. She always looked forward to good times with her bridge club, the Girls from Grafton Hill and the “Eight for Bridge.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 10, at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster Street, Worcester. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 10 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
