Mark R. Farley, 69, of Holden, died on December 25, 2024 at the UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus with his wife and daughter by his side.
Mark leaves his wife of 46 years, Annette Ciccarelli Farley; his daughter Sarah A. Farley and her partner Ryan R. O’Rourke, his granddaughter, Peyton R. O’Rourke, all of Worcester; two brothers, James M. Farley and his wife Kathy of Solomon, MD and Robert J. Farley and his wife Gail of Hampton, NH; a sister Elizabeth T. Cusson and her husband Joe of Alexandria, VA; his brother-in-law John F. Ciccarelli and his wife Rosemary of Amherst, MA; 10 nieces and nephews, and 21 great nieces and nephews.
Mark was born in Worcester, son of Joseph W. and Mary V. (Rice) Farley and has lived in Holden for 32 years.
Mark was a retired salesman and had a long career with companies within the Worcester and New England area.
Mark was an accomplished golfer and a longtime member of Wachusett Country Club and had the pleasure of playing at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia. He was a fixture at MacDonalds Tavern at Worcester Fitness where he leaves behind a devoted group of friends, whom he loved dearly.
When Sarah was younger, he loved watching her compete as a figure skater and for the past 11 years has enjoyed attending playoff and World Series games with his family in support of Sarah’s career with the Boston Red Sox. Over the past two years, he enjoyed more than anything being a grandfather and spending his time with Peyton.
Calling hours are Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 4, at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow In St. John’s Cemetery.
