Maria L. (Glennon) Donahue, 74, of Worcester, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023. She was notably a thoughtful and considerate person to everyone in her life.
Maria was born in Worcester on June 14, 1948, daughter of the late Leo F. and Alice R. (Murphy) Glennon and lived in Worcester all her life. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1966 and Anna Maria College in 1970. She taught for several years in the Worcester Public Schools.
She met her husband Kevin in high school and they married in 1971.
Maria leaves a son Brian M. Donahue; a daughter Erin M. Zamarro and her husband Anthony F. Zamarro; and three grandchildren whom she loved very much, Anthony F. Zamarro Jr., Catherine R. Zamarro and Leo C. Zamarro. She also leaves her best friend of almost 70 years, Eileen Roach; and her sisters Patricia Glennon-Wiener and her husband Craig Wiener, and Kathleen M. Glennon; and nephews.
Maria was predeceased by her husband Kevin in 2019.
Calling hours are Wednesday, March 1, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
