Marcy attended Notre Dame Catholic School in Boston and Attleboro High School in Attleboro graduating in 1957. After high school Marcy went on to attend the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston graduating in 1960. Marcy then completed her Master’s degree in Public Health from Anna Maria College in Paxton.
Marcy’s passion for nursing led her to pursue a career as a school nurse in the Worcester Public Schools where she worked from 1960-2007. The last ten years of her career were spent as an administrator in the Department of Public Health. Marcy’s dedication to her profession touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.
Marcy was a remarkable individual with a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor. She was fiercely independent and formed deep and lasting friendships with those around her. Marcy’s loyalty to her friends was unparalleled, and she always went out of her way to help those in need. She lived her faith through her active involvement at Saint John’s Catholic Church where she dedicated her time to assisting those less fortunate at the Saint John’s Food Pantry.
Outside her career, Marcy enjoyed various interests including her bible study group, golfing, shopping (TJ Maxx/Marshals) traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She cherished her summers at Humarock Beach and the White Mountains with her beloved cousins.
