Leonard G. Cusick,89, of Paxton, died on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the St. Francis Nursing Center in Worcester after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease.
He leaves his wife, Jean (Santeiu) Cusick; two children, his daughter and angel, Karen Cusick of Paxton, his son, Steven Bryan Cusick and his wife Kerry (Anderson) Cusick and their children, Owen and Dillon of Littleton.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy A. Kesseli and Janice Costa.
Leonard was born in Worcester, son of Anthony and Anne (Wallent) Cusick and attended the Worcester Public Schools including two years at Worcester Academy and he graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1957 with a major in Business Administration.
He served in the US Army Signal Corps in Japan for two years and the Army reserve.
Len worked his entire career in various sales positions until his retirement.
Len loved the natural beauty and the friendliness of the people on Cape Cod so he purchased a home in Falmouth in 1970 that he and his family and friends could enjoy.
He was an outdoor person who loved salt water fishing for bass and blue fish with family and friends. He also enjoyed boating, the beach and the ocean especially the Nantucket Sound. He loved to play basketball and was especially interested when the Celtics or the Patriots were winning. He loved to read history books and was a capable oil painter and was known for his good sense of humor.
Len felt it was important to support organizations to help the poor, the homeless, the hungry, the addicted and children. He has gotten many return address stickers for his efforts.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Columba’s Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton the funeral Mass will follow at Noon in the church.
Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be private.
