Kathleen Kirwan

Kathleen Kirwan of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Christopher House Nursing Center, where she has lived for five years.

Kathleen was born on January 15, 1945 in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Patrick T. and Katherine (Carney) Kirwan.  She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School and worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 25 years.

Kathleen is survived by her sister-in-law Marcia (Horan) Kirwan of Kansas City, Missouri.; a nephew Christopher J. Kirwin and his wife Tina of Overland Park, Kansas; a niece Elizabeth Kirwan McClain and her husband Rance of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four grandnephews, and a grandniece.

Kathleen was predeceased by her brother Jack in January 2012.

Kathy was beloved by her family and many friends for her kind and generous ways and for her truly optimistic spirit. She appreciated all the kindness of her caregivers during her years at Christopher House in Worcester.

There will be a calling hour Friday, October 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester.  A prayer service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
