Kachadoor Toromanian Obituary

Kachadoor M. Toromanian, 98, of West Boylston, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Rose (Melikian) Toromanian, who passed away in 2013.

Kachadoor was born in Worcester, son of Manoog and Maritza (Rustigian) Toromanian. Prior to retiring to West Boylston, he lived in Worcester for over 70 years. He was drafted out of South High School in 1946 into military service during World War II.  He served in the U.S. Navy including a tour of duty aboard the USS Midway in the Asiatic-Pacific area.  After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to Worcester and South High School to earn his diploma.

For more than 40 years, Kachadoor was a dedicated employee at Norton Company, where he was a machinist and an appointed employee advocate.  When he retired, he enjoyed spending his time outdoors, walking many miles throughout the Greendale community.

He was a longtime member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour in Worcester, where he served as the church’s first Boy Scout Troop Leader and later became a Commissioner for Boy Scouts of America Mohegan Council.

He was devoted to his wife and family. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren filled him with joy. He enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod for many summers, where he often rode his bicycle to the beach and to visit nearby family and friends. He was a Jack of all trades with the ability to fix almost anything. Kachadoor also had a close relationship with his brothers, John and Nish Toromanian, who predeceased him.

Kachadoor leaves two daughters, Elaine A. Devine and her husband William of Monson, and Diane R. Lynch and her husband Martin of Sterling; a brother-in-law, Edward Melikian of Grafton; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Luke Devine, and Grace, Maggie and Owen Lynch; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
