Joseph T. Dyer Jr., 83, of Shrewsbury, passed away Thursday, July 4, at the UMass-Memorial Medical Center surrounded by family.
He was born in Worcester to Joseph T. and Marie R. (Grosse) Dyer.
A retired bricklayer and welder who helped build the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant, Joe was a longtime member of Local 6 of the Bricklayers, Plasterers and Masons Union in Worcester, and a proud Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church parishioner.
He is survived by his brother, William J. Dyer Sr. and his wife Jeanne of Pocono Pines, Penn., and four nieces and nephews, Kathleen Borzell, William J. Dyer Jr., Karen J. Wattam, and John J. Dyer Jr. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, John “Jack” J. Dyer Sr. of Shrewsbury, who passed away in 2010.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester.
The funeral Mass will be Friday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will be private.
