Jeffrey J. Lee, 85, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 18, 2025.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Patricia A. (Sankoski) Lee; three daughters, Christina P. Lee and her daughter Lacey of Worcester, Karen P. Lee of Holden, and Nancy P. Catino and her children Ariana and Kieran of Worcester; two sisters, Mary Bourke of Marlborough and Margaret Gniadek of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Cathy Lee and Theresa Wooldridge, and his son-in-law Thomas P. Catino.
Jeff was born in Worcester, son of James and Catherine (Murphy) Lee. He was a 1958 graduate of the former St. Peter’s High School in Worcester, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served four years on active duty and two years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, then went on to graduate from Worcester Junior College.
Jeff had long career with the U.S. Postal Service. He began as a Letter Carrier and later worked many years as a Supervisor in the Central Mass. Processing & Distribution Center in Shrewsbury. He retired in 1997 after more than 30 years with the Postal Service. Unstoppable even in retirement, he then worked part-time for the internal mail system of Fallon Clinic and Reliant Health until last year.
Jeff loved to be busy. In his younger years he enjoyed playing tennis. He was an avid Boston sports fan and could usually be found working in the yard or at the local Dunkin' Donuts or Home Depot ready to chat with anyone about anything. A hard worker and incredibly generous, he was always willing to offer a helping hand, advice, or the use of his truck for any project.
Jeff was devoted to his family and was a proud father and grandfather. He adored being "Baboo" to his three grandchildren and was always up for an adventure with the kids. He will be terribly missed.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 22, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.
To honor Jeff's generous spirit, in lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
