Frances A. Fisher (Farrell) Phelan

Frances A. (Farrell) Fisher Phelan, 83, died Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Christopher House, Worcester.

Frances leaves four children, Donna (Fisher) Parmenter and her husband Wilfred of Clemmons, N.C., and their children Brent and Katelyn; Cheryl A. (Fisher) Burton and her husband David of Venice, Fla., and their three children Jarrod, Matthew and Dodi; Peter T. Fisher and his wife Helen of Worcester, and their three daughters Megan, Kayla and Briana; and Patricia Fisher Nelson of Worcester and her daughter Sarah; five great-grandchildren; a sister Pauline C. Wambach of Worcester; and a brother Richard J. Farrell of Noblesville, Ind.

She also leaves her longtime companion Paul Donahue of Auburn, his two daughters, Karen Welch of Rutland and Cheryl Donahue of Worcester, and a stepson Patrick Phelan.

Frances was predeceased by her husband Edmund Phelan, her stepson Michael Phelan, her sister Mary L. Quercio and her brother Paul T. Farrell.

Frances was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas E. and Florence I. (Haggerty) Farrell and lived in Worcester most of her life. She graduated in 1957 from St. Peter’s High School.

Frances retired from the Hanover Insurance Co. where she was an office clerk for many years. Previously, she was a waitress at the former White House and Long Island Hot Dog restaurants, both in Worcester.

Frances spent many winters in Florida with Paul. She was an accomplished golfer and once scored a hole-in-one. She was a member of the Dinettes.

The funeral Mass will be Friday, March 10, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
