Elizabeth A. Woods

Elizabeth A. Woods, age 95, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center.

She leaves behind 5 children including daughter, Kate St. Onge with her husband Glenn, and devoted son, John Poulin; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, John & Thomas Woods, three sisters, Mary Yaeger, Anna Lipps, and Lillian Gallagher, one grandson and one great grandson.

She was born on January 19, 1929, the youngest of 6 children to the late John and Margaret (Gaffney) Woods.  She grew up in Worcester, MA before moving to Oxford, MA to raise a family, returning to Worcester after they were grown.  She was a graduate from North High School, a dedicated wife & mother, and worked within a family-owned business as Account Manager at Thomas J. Woods Insurance Agency until she retired.

She was a long standing member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Worcester, MA, enjoyed spending time with family, listening to opera and classical music, and will be most remembered for her meticulously kept home which displayed many antiques she had collected and proudly showcased. She loved to change up her decor for holidays, especially Christmas and Easter. “Betty” lived a long fulfilled life and will be truly missed.

Her wishes were to have a private memorial Mass and burial with her closest family members. There are no calling hours.
