Elizabeth J. Breen, 87, of Christopher House in Worcester and formerly of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Edmund J. and Annette J. (Asselin) Breen. She lived many years in Shrewsbury and West Palm Beach, Fla.
Elizabeth was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in Worcester. She was a legal secretary for several years. She later worked as an administrative assistant at the New England Power Company for many years before her retirement.
Elizabeth’s true passion was for the world of dance. She was a talented dancer in her youth. In addition to her professional career, she devoted much of her time to local theater. For many years she ran a dance school in Worcester, the School of Performing Arts. She participated in many local theater productions including the those at the Worcester Light Opera Company. She is best known as a choreographer. She was involved in countless student shows at area schools including St. Peter’s Grammar and High schools and Shrewsbury High School.
She leaves many cousins including Elizabeth A. Chabot and Sean Lawlor, both of Shrewsbury; Paul McGinn and Richard McGinn.
Funeral services will be private.
The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
