Eleanor Ann “Nancy” (Toomey) Brazile, 94, passed away peacefully Friday morning surrounded by family. She was the daughter of Marie (O’Donnell) and Richard J. Toomey and a lifelong resident of Worcester.
Nancy is predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Charles J. Brazile and survived by their seven children: Mary Beane and husband Gordon, Susan Bercume and husband Roland, Nancy Scally and husband Stephen, Patricia Griffin and husband James, Charles Jr., John, and Richard. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ellen Case and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy is predeceased by her sisters M. Katherine Barrett, Carol Montague, and brother Richard Toomey Jr.
Nancy was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; caring, loving, and happiest when surrounded by her large family. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and her home was always filled with joyful music. Nancy was a congregant of St. George Catholic Church and a committed adorer at its Adoration Chapel for many years. She graduated from Woodland Preparatory and South High School in Worcester and worked in the public school system after raising her children.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, July 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 10:00 am at St. George Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
