Edmond Ryan Obituary

Edmond J. Ryan, 75, died peacefully on Christmas Day, 2021, at his home in Miami, Florida.

He was born in Worcester, Mass. on Jan. 3, 1946 to Edmond J. Ryan and May (Loughlin) Ryan.

Ed attended the former Assumption Prep. in Worcester, Mass., and continued his education at UMass Amherst, studying pre-med.

He was accepted to the University of Bern, at their veterinary school, Bern, Switzerland. Ed took advanced German course for 5 weeks for his classes were in German at the University.

He moved to Florida after graduation, and opened a practice in Miramar, Fla., Deerfield, and ultimately in Englewood, where he built a Medical Center.

Ed changed direction and attended N.Y.U. film school. After graduation he did write, produce, direct, and act in a movie he wrote called Farewell Collette. He was also the composer of the music in the movie with composer Dan Zapoli.

His passions were playing tennis, theatre, movies and reading.

Eddy was predeceased by his mother and father. He had no siblings, only cousins, and many friends.

Burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester, was private.
