Dorothy Eva Lawless, age 97, entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 25, 2025, completing a long and faith-filled life. Born on February 26, 1928, in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of Eva (Burns) Leneau and Alfred Leneau. Dorothy was blessed with three sisters—Claire Vecchio, Rita Bourassa, and Virginia Shea.
Dorothy was a woman of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love. She devoted her life to her family and to the Lord, and her gentle spirit and sweet smile touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a faithful member of both Heritage Baptist Church and Sovereign Grace Chapel, where she worshiped, served, and encouraged others with her steadfast trust in God.
She was the loving mother of two children: Harry Charles Clouthier, married to Faye Clouthier, and Dorothy Ann Clouthier, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2004. Dorothy or also known as Dot or Mémé cherished her family deeply and poured her heart into the next generations.
She is survived by her grandchildren: John, Bill, Jean, Jimmy, and Laura. Dorothy also deeply cherished her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy. She loved them with the same steady, gentle devotion that shaped her entire life, and she treasured every moment spent watching the generations that followed her grow. She is remembered fondly by many extended relatives, church family, and friends whose lives were blessed by her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith.
Dorothy’s life was marked by perseverance, humility, and a sincere love for Jesus Christ. She prayed faithfully, read her entire Bible every year for decades, encouraged gently, and lived her beliefs with quiet consistency. Her legacy of faith continues to shine through her family and all who were influenced by her life.
While we grieve her passing, we rejoice knowing she is now safely home with her Savior. We thank God for her 97 years of life, for every moment we shared, and for the spiritual heritage she leaves behind.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster Street, Worcester, with a service to follow.
