David Doherty Obituary

David Francis Doherty, 75, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on November 28th, 2024. David was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His life was marked by hard work, and a deep love for family.
David proudly served in the Marine Reserves, a testament to his unwavering sense of duty and dedication to our country. Following his time in the service, he became a highly respected electrician, working with his father and brother at Marty's Electric Company. He also spent many years working HVAC at Lincoln Village in Worcester. He would work to assist his family and always loved helping friends when in need.
David is survived by his three sons and their mother Judith Doherty: Sean Doherty and his wife Jennifer, Timothy Doherty and his wife Tara, and Dan Doherty and his wife Kelly. He was a beloved grandfather to six grandchildren, Ryan, Ethan, Addison, Cameron, Brooke, Tyler and goddaughter Kelly-Anne McLaughlin and her daughter Delaney. His family will forever cherish the love and laughter he brought into their lives. He is also survived by his loving sister Caren Doherty and her grandson Garrett, and his brothers Fred Doherty, Jody Doherty, and Steven Doherty.
David had many passions, including following televised sports, playing Keno and spending time with his long time friend Donna Reis.  David enjoyed visits to the casino, where he tested his luck at the slot machines. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his immediate family, creating lasting memories and stories that will be treasured for generations.
A funeral service will be held Monday December 2nd, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s memory to a charity of your choice.
David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
