Celeste Butcher Obituary

Celeste (Russell) Butcher, passed away on Monday, February 24, at Windsor Skilled Nursing Facility in Yarmouth, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Worcester to the late Henry and Gertrude Russell. She was a lifelong resident of Worcester until the last 6 years of her life, when she moved to Cape Cod.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James T. Butcher and her beloved Granddaughter Courtney E. Butcher.

She leaves her son James E. Butcher and his wife Carrie L. Butcher of South Dennis, MA, along with their children Colin Reed and his wife Kaylee, Mary Kathryn Butcher and her fiancé Kevin Newton, Patricia Butcher and her partner Tanner Weiss. She also leaves her daughter, Frances B. Dallmeyer and her husband Brian Dallmeyer of Chelmsford, their children Jack Dallmeyer, Madison Dallmeyer and her fiancé Alex Sanginario and Samuel Dallmeyer. She also leaves three Great Grandchildren, Bella, Ryder and Leah as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. The family would also like to thank the Staff of Windsor Skilled Nursing, especially Jean, DiDi, Laura, Carol, Tara and John, for the great care and friendship they showed Celeste during her stay there.

Celeste worked as Executive Secretary for the Worcester Civic Center Commission, retiring in 1999.

The funeral will be Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester with a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will follow the Mass.
