Barbara Joan (Carsus) Lusignan, 89, of Worcester, died Monday, October 20, 2025, at Dodge Park Rest Home after a long illness.
Barbara leaves three children, Denise V. Walsh and her husband John P. Walsh of Worcester, David D. Lusignan and his partner Charles A. Miller of Ogunquit, Maine, and Marc K. Lusignan of Boston; two grandchildren, Ryan J. Kelley and his wife Rebecca Kelley of Fitchburg, and Alyssa C. Eaton and her husband Matthew Eaton of Worcester; six great grandchildren, Joseph, Declan, and Callum Kelley, and Trent, Allana, and Peyton Eaton, and many nieces and nephews. Her brother J. Kenneth Carsus died in 2006. Her former husband Donald A. Lusignan passed away earlier this year.
Daughter of Joseph C. and Rose (Dusak) Carsus, Barbara was born in Pawtucket, RI, and grew up in Worcester. She was a graduate of the former Commerce High School.
Barbara loved to take care of her family. When her children were older, she worked as an administrative assistant at Pierce and Pierce Law Firm, Bay Path Regional Vocational High School, and at Alexander, Aronson & Finning, PCs for 19 years retiring in 2006.
In her 50s, Barbara enrolled at the New England School of Design in Boston. She opened 2 boutiques in Auburn and Lexington for a time. She was a gifted seamstress, artist, and loved to sew, tole paint, and make ceramics.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing and Victorian decorating. Most of all, she loved her family and close friends, especially her time with her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, who brought her great joy.
There are calling hours on Monday, October 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 28, at 10 a.m. at Life Source Church, 350 Stafford St., Cherry Valley (Leicester). Burial will follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Dodge Park Employee Holiday Fund, 101 Randolph Rd., Worcester, MA 01606.
