Anne M. Kiritsy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Notre Dame Healthcare in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was born on December 18, 1929, in Baldwinville to the late Patrick and Anne (MacPherson) Nicholson. In 1936, her family moved to Worcester where she lived the rest of her life. She was a proud graduate of Ascension High School and worked in the lab at St. Vincent Hospital where she met her husband, Paul A. Kiritsy. Together they raised a family of seven children.
Anne was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, her brother Donald T. Nicholson, and four sisters: Sister Anne Patrick Nicholson, SND, Margaret Menard (Paul), Catherine Reen (Timothy), and Mary Nicholson. Her brothers, Rev. John J. Nicholson and James A. Nicholson survive her. She leaves her children, Judith A. Roy (Mark), John M. Kiritsy (Nancy), Mary E. Foley, Paul J. Kiritsy (Karleen), Patrick G. Kiritsy (Roxanne), George P. Kiritsy (Jennifer), and Anne M. DelMastro (Robert). She was the beloved Nana to 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
After her children were grown, Anne put her business skills to work at the Massachusetts Division of Employment Security and later as the head clerk in the City of Worcester Assessor’s Office. She was a loyal member of the Christ the King parish, where she served on the altar care committee. She also volunteered as an assistant Girl Scout leader for many years. She was an avid New England sports fan and a winning participant in her football pool. A passionate Democrat, she kept abreast of local, state, and national politics. Her favorite pastime, besides keeping her home beautiful, was shopping at TJ Maxx followed by lunch at the Crown Bakery with her dear friend, Frannie Leahy.
We wish to offer a special note of thanks to Anne’s granddaughter Elaina and her spouse, Suzana, for their loving help and support in the home. In addition, we are grateful to the staff of Notre Dame du Lac Harmony and Notre Dame Hospice for the outstanding care they gave Anne in her final years.
