Allison V. Rich, 67, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on November 23, 2022.
Allison was born on July 26, 1955 in Fairbanks, AK at Ladd Air Force Base. Allison later moved to Northborough, MA where she was educated in the Northboro Public Schools System and attended Algonquin Regional High School.
Allison worked for the former Marvin Richmond Photography Studios, Paul Revere Life Insurance, and for more than 30 years, Allison managed the purchasing and sales of merchandise for the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts – formerly, The Montachusett Girl Scouts Council. Allison received the Woman of Distinction award for her dedication to the Girls Scouts of America. Allison was an active member of Troop 2016 and delighted in the time spent with fellow Girl Scouts, several of whom became life-long friends.
Allison was an avid reader – making it her goal to read more than 50 books a year in retirement. She surpassed that goal in 2020 and 2021. Allison kept the Worcester Public Library busy. In addition to her love for reading, she loved to walk, her trips to the Cape and Southwest Florida, and time spent with friends and family. Allison enjoyed a lifetime trip to France in the spring of 2022 and celebrated 50 years of marriage with her husband in July. In retirement, Allison, along with her husband Jim, enjoyed many New England beaches and sightseeing day-trips.
Allison is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, James T. Rich, of Worcester, MA; her daughter, Leslie Rich of Providence, RI; her father, Ronald R. Kick of Estero, FL; her sister Lauren Kick of Jacksonville, FL; her brother and his wife, Ronald R. Kick Jr. and Heather of Ivoryton, CT; and her beloved cat and grand-animals: Goose, Joey, and Evie. She also leaves behind several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many special family friends, all of whom she adored. Allison’s mother, Joanne R. Kick, predeceased her.
Allison’s family invites all to celebrate her life on Sunday December 4, 2022, from 11am to 1pm, at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster Street, Worcester, MA.
